Ghanaian legend Asamoah Gyan has lost the Max Performer of the Match award to his teammate Redeem Tlang after coming close to the gong.
The hardworking goal poacher was a standout in the NorthEast United set up on Friday scoring his side’s first goal in their 2-2 draw against FC Goa in the Indian top-flight league.
Asamoah was in the race for the accolade with Redeem Tlang, Milan Singh and Rakesh Pradhan but lost the accolade to Redeem Tlang who was adjudged the Max Performer of the match against FC Goa.
Redeem Tlang made the game 2-1 for NorthEast United on 72 minutes with a first-time curling after connecting with a layoff from Martin Chaves, but the home side grabbed a late equalizer to make sure the spoil is shared.
Asamoah Gyan will be hoping to continue his good run of form for NorthEast United after scoring twice in three games.
