Harambee Stars of Kenya have eliminated the Black Queens of Ghana from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifiers after Gentrix Shikangwa strike in the extra time secured her side a hard fought win.
Both Ghana and Kenya were looking promising of victory since the game got incepted. The two teams level of momentum were at par until Shikangwa made the difference in the die embers of the game.
The first half ended goalless likewise the second department too ended goalless which saw the game to have went to extra time – there was a high sense of tenacity tempo from both sides.
The was no critical challenge in the extra time until Justice Tweneboah handled the ball in the 18 yard box which saw the referee to have called for penalty.
Gentrix Shikangwa made no mistake on the 99th minute to convert kick from the spot.
The Black Queens pushed for equaliser but the defensive set up of Kenya was compact for Ghana to penetrate through.
Despite huffing and puffing, Ghana failed to score the needed away goal as Kenya cruised to victory. Team Ghana thus went home with a marginal lose of 1-0.
