Black Stars B head coach Maxwell Konadu has insisted it will be difficult for his side to defend their WAFU title after edging out Burkina Faso to qualify to the semifinals of the competition.
Skipper of the sides Shafiu Mumuni cancelled llias Tiendrebeogo’s strike to send the game into penalty shootout, Ghana eventually won the shootout by 5-4 after Ofori Antwi saved two penalties to sealed his side qualification.
Speaking to the media after the game, Maxwell Konadu who led the team to win the trophy two years ago insisted defending the trophy will be difficult for his side after their slow start to the competition.
“We knew everything was possible, we didn’t get demoralized. We knew we could win the game. So we took it in good faith and gather ourselves together and won together.
“It will bedifficult, even when we won the title two years ago. It’s not different from this one. This one is more difficult. football in Africa is growing year after year. Our first match we won 1-0, second match 1-1. It tells you how difficult it is”
Ghana will know their semi finals opponent after Saturdays game.
