President of Ghana Olympic Committee Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah has hailed Ghana Iconic player Asamoah Gyan following a successful organization of the second edition of Baby jet Under 16 Africa Championship.
The Second edition of the Baby Jet under 16 Championship came to an end on Wednesday were Ebenezer Ofori Academy beat Kasoa base Cheetah FC 3-2 to lift the trophy at the Accra Academy Park.
Mr Nunoo who was a guest at the final lauded the Black Stars General Captain for organizing such a competition, he also called on the past and current footballers to emulate what the New NorthEast United player has been doing.
“What Asamoah Gyan did in Accra Academy, if about 30% of our professional or past footballers will also do the same in the various communities or schools, our football will be at a different level” He told footballmadeinghana.com.
“When you look at Asamoah Gyan, God has blessed him, I believe Asamoah Gyan is the best Player Africa has ever produced, he has broken all the available records Africa. In terms of helping or pushing the game. I think, he has exceeded expectations”.
“He is also doing his best in terms of youth development, he is doing very well. And I wish other stars who are currently playing outsides will do the same.
“Yes they may not be able to match what Asamoah Gyan has done but I think can do their best. Asamoah Gyan is a record breaker, wherever he goes. This is absolutely mind-blowing”.
The former board member of Accra Hearts of Oak also called on the upcoming footballers to tap from his experience in order to realize their dreams.
“So we will continue to pray for him. I am sure he still has a lot to offer this country, let pray for him expecially the young boys who are playing footballers, they need support and inspiration from people like Asamoah Gyan. I think we should continue to pray for him”
Sixteen clubs across West Africa competed against each other in the 2nd edition of the competition in Accra.
The Baby jet Africa under 16 tournament offers the young talented players the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents to top scouts, coaches, agents and representatives of foreign clubs. It also give unsigned players to earn professional contract with foreign clubs.
Baby Jet Under 16 tournament is organized by Goldstar Consult LTD, Supported by Ashfoam, Asamoah Gyan Foundation and baby Jet promotion.
