Red Bull Salzburg star Gideon Mensah has his sights set on a possible call-up to the senior national team, the Black Stars.
The highly-rated defender has established himself as a key cog in Ghana’s U23 side but is confident he can make the step up to the big time soon.
The 21 year old has been touted by many pundits as the solution to Ghana’s left back woes.
A tag that doesn’t faze an ambitious Gideon who believes he will be ready to live up to the expectations.
”My journey so far has been good and in the next two years, I see myself playing in one of the very big clubs in Europe and I also see myself as the left back Ghanaians want to play for their senior national team” he told FootballMadeInGhana.com
Gideon was linked with a move to Spanish giants FC Barcelona in the summer after impressing against Real Madrid and Chelsea in preseason.
However, no official approach was made by the Catalans and he joined Belgian top-flight side Zulte Waragem on a season-long loan deal.
