Red Bull Salzburg star Gideon Mensah has revealed an injury collapsed his proposed transfer to Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
The German side was seriously interested in the 21 year old after he helped Salzburg win the UEFA youth Champions League in 2016.
However an unfortunate injury prevented the deal from progressing but the Ghana u23 defender doesn’t rule out a move in future.
“Leipzig wants players who are performing well because they are playing in the Champions League and in a much tougher Bundesliga.
“I will have the chance to play there when I continue to play well. When I was in the youth league, when we won the youth Champions League final against Benfica in 2016, there was interest from them but I had an injury so the deal went off” he revealed in an exclusive interview with FootballMadeInGhana.
Gideon is currently on loan with Belgian top-flight side Zulte Waragem.
