Ghanaian midfielder Aziz Tetteh has joined the list of philanthropists who have donated towards the construction of the Kunka Mosque in Obuasi.
Aziz who has just joined Turkish side Gaziantep from Dynamo Moscow donated the amount towards the project after he had wind of the project through Sheikh Tophic Sienu – Editor for footballmadeinghana.com who has been championing the success of the project from its start.
The Kunka Mosque, located at the mouth of Obuasi, at the Dunkwa Junction, is a big mosque that serves several communities and towns around that area especially for Friday congregational prayers.
The donation will be handed over to the Mosque Committee over the weekend.
Aziz, an ardent Muslim who believes in goodness has pledged to offer more support based on the progress of the project.
Earlier, Tetteh donated two sets of STRIKE jerseys and polo shirts to his former club Liberty Professionals as part of giving back to his roots.
The benevolence of Aziz Tetteh sees no boundaries as he has pledged to offer more support to see to the completion of the mosque.
Earlier, several people including President of Cheetah FC Abdul Haye Yartey, and President of Accra Young Wise Bismark Baffour have donated towards the project.
Former Kotoko skipper Yusif Chibsah and Black Stars deputy coach Ibrahim Tanko have also donated towards the project.
Some Black Stars players who don’t want their names to be mentioned, as well as several philanthropists who want their names kept secret have also supported the project.
Aziz Tetteh’s action is expected to encourage many others to jump on board to support the Godly act.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
