Dreams FC bounced back from midweek defeat to Sporting Mirren with an emphatic 2-1 win over Uncle T Stars at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu in the Ghana National Division One Zone Three week 24 encounter on Sunday.
The home side started the game brightly and piled pressure on Uncle T Stars as the visitors retracted and begun to adopt defensive play.
The deadlock of the game was broken in the 18th minute through Dreams FC winger Rashid Sani who slotted home a penalty kick after an opposing defender had deliberately handled a ball in the 18-yard box.
Dreams FC could have made in two in the 24th minute but Samuel Alabi fluffed his effort wide after stealing the ball in the opponent’s vital area.
Against the run of play, Uncle T equalized in the 40th minute through a goal-mouth melee after an awful defending from the Dreams FC back four.
The first department of the game ended with Dreams FC on top in terms of possession though the scores stood at 1-1.
Dreams FC came into the second strongly and looked very determined to take the lead though series of chances were missed by their attackers.
Right-back Maxwell Arthur was just unlucky in the 58th minute as his strike from a rebound missed target by inches.
Midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey showed why he is the heartbeat of the Dreams FC team with a superb free kick in the 69th minute which went straight into the net with the Uncle T goalkeeper looking stranded in the post.
Uncle T Stars lifted their game again as they seek to draw even back the Dreams FC defenders remained resolute and thwarted all their effort.
Winger Rashid Sani could have netted his second on the day and Dreams FC’s third after a fantastic run on the left in the 83rd minute but his shot was tipped over the bar by the Uncle T keeper.
Zuberu Sharani also went on a solo run through the middle in the 88th minute but his effort was blocked by the opposing defenders.
Manager Karim Zito vrough on George Dwubeng for Rashid Sani in the 89th minute as Dreams FC held on to a 2-1 win.
