Bernard Tekpetey opened his goal-scoring account for Fortuna Düsseldorf as the Red and Whites thrashed German lower-division side Siegen 6-0 in a pre-season friendly.

The 21 year old scored his side’s third goal in the 31st minute after Oliver Finke and Rouwen Hennings has given them the lead in the 15 and 27th minutes respectively.

Second half goals from Havard Nielsen, Niko Gießelmann and Timo Bornemann ensured the Bundesliga side win the game 6-0.

Tekpetey joined the Bundesliga outfit last week on an initial two-year loan deal from Schalke 04.

Düsseldorf  have an option to purchase the Ghanaian international for €2.5 million at the end of his loan spell. Schalke have also inserted an €8m buy-back clause.
