Black Stars of Ghana were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw against the indomitable Lions of Cameroon in their second group game of the African Cup of Nations.
Despite creating a lot of chances in the game, the Stars couldn’t find the break through as Cameroon defended very well make sure the spoils is shared.
Kwesi Appiah made three changes to the side that drew against Benin. Starting Kwadwo Asamoah, Jonathan Mensah and Baba Rahman.
Whilst Clarence Seedorf Biyik Armel ahead of the injured Choupo Motin.
Ghana took control of the game in the early stages and dominated in the early stages.
Andre Ayew delivered a cross to the penalty box but Ngadeu was there with a timely clearance.
Kassim Nuhu had a golden chance in front of the penalty box but he blasted the ball wide.
Ghana received a blow in the 14th minute after Christian Atsu suffered an injury, Samuel Owusu was brought on to replace him.
Jordan Ayew nearly break the the deadlocks of the game after a good cross By Baba Rahman, but his feeble touch was never going to threaten the final.
Cameroon first chance of the game came in the 32nd minute, Ekambi was put through on goal by Anguissa but a timely intervention by Jonathan Mensah denied him.
Richard Ofori in the 36th minute produced a wonderful save to denied Clinton Njie
Christian Bassogog nearly give the Cameroonians the lead after pouncing a cross from Ekambi, but a great save by Ofori denied him.
Despite a late pressure from Cameroon, the Black Stars held on till the blast of the first half whistle.
Ghana started the second half very well and looked to dominate the game.
Andrew Ayew came close in the 53rd minutes after a good cross by Baba Rahman but Ngadeu intervened and block his touch.
Mubarak Wakasu also tried his luck from 25yards but blasted it wide
Ghana continued to dominate the game but couldn’t break the resilient Cameroon defense.
Asamoah Gyan and Kwabena Owusu were brought on for Kwadwo Asamoah and Kwabena Owusu.
Kwabena Owusu had a golden chance in the 87th minutes, but his strike hit the crossbar.
Andy Yaidom came close again after running through the defense but his shot was saved by Andrea Onana.
Ghana huffed and Puffed but couldn’t get break through as the referee blew his whistle for the end of the game.
