Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has switched focus to the titanic clash against Cameroon after they were held to a pulsating 2-2 draw by Benin in their opening game at 2019 AFCON.
Mickael Pote gave the Squirrels a shock lead after two minutes before Black Stars captain Andre Ayew restored parity for Kwesi Appiah’s men.
Jordan fired Ghana ahead, but Pote earned Benin a point after John Boye was dismissed for a second yellow card.
“It was a good game,” Appiah said at the post-match conference.
“We didn’t concentrate in the first half. In the second half, it was hard to play with 10 players. A draw is reasonable.
“I didn’t lose hope in my team. Wait for us in the next game.”
Ghana will face the Indomitable Lions on Saturday at 5pm at the Ismailia Stadium whilst Benin lock horns with Guinea Bissau later at the same venue.
