Television Director for StarTimes Ghana George Lomotey is in Dakar, Senegal for a three-day seminar on the ‘Exploitation and Commercialization of CAF Rights for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The industrious broadcast expert who will be managing the broadcast of CAF events for the African Union of Broadcasting was invited by the Union, who is the media rights owner for CAF competitions from now until 2023, to join the trainers team during the session.
The training intended for the Marketing, Legal Affairs and Programs Managers of the 43 AUB member associations, is part of the preparation of the media for the 2019 AFCON coverage.
Lomotey, who is a broadcast expert, not only in Ghana but also on the continent, will lead the AUB team of experts in a stakeholders meeting to exchange and debate with CAF experts in order to strengthen their capacities and expose them to the exploitation and commercialization of the rights for the AFCON.
The Ghanaian powerhouse is expected to provide insight into how to commercialise the rights for the AFCON for the 43 member associations.
Lomotey who is highly respected within the Ghanaian media for his excellent service at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation before joining giants StarTimes Ghana.
Lomotey’s experience with AUB dates back to 2010 where he was contracted by AUB to handle the broadcast management of the World Cup in South Africa as well as the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
