Ghana’s all-time leading goal-scorer Asamoah Gyan has reversed his decision to retire from international football ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Turkey-based striker has now accepted the role of being the General Captain of the Black Stars after quitting the team over Kwesi Appiah’s decision to strip him of the captaincy.
Gyan availed himself for selection after a phone conversation with Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday.
The 33 year old in a statement, assured the president of his commitment to help Ghana end their 37-year wait for an African title.
He is expected to be named in Ghana’s AFCON squad which will begin camping on June 1.
