Experienced football administrator Alhaji Abdul Karim Gruzah has blamed Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah for the Asamoah Gyan’s retirement from the Black Star.
Gyan announced on Monday, his decision to retire from the Ghana national team following Appiah’s decision to strip him off the captain’s armband.
And according to Gruzah, the coach was wrong to have informed Asamoah Gyan of his decision before announcing his final man squad for the tournament.
“Kwasi Appiah made a very big mistake in talking to Asamoah Gyan about the captaincy,” he told Ashh FM.
“You have not named your squad for the tournament but you rush to talk about the captaincy which is wrong.
“I will blame Kwesi Appiah for Asamoah Gyan’s premature retirement.
“You have not named your squad for the tournament so why do you call him on the captaincy issue,” Grusah exclaimed.
The Black Stars head coach is set to name his squad for the showpiece in Egypt in the coming days.
