Nigeria defeated Ghana 4-2 on penalties to reach the 2019 WAFU Women’s Cup final.
The game went into penalty shootout after both teams failed find the breakthrough in regulation time.
The Super Falcons converted all their four kicks, while the Black Queens scored only two.
Thursday’s result was sweet revenge for the Super Falcons who lost on penalties to Ghana at the same stage last year.
For Ghana, it was a disappointment as they failed in their quest to defend the title they won last year.
On Saturday, Ghana will take on Mali in the third-place final, before hosts Cote d’Ivoire battle Nigeria for the title.
