Ahead of the African Cup of Nations in Egypt, Black Stars’ skipper Asamoah Gyan has revealed wining the African Cup Of Nations will be the biggest legacy he can leave for his country.
The Kayserispor striker has appeared for his country in more than seven AFCONs plus three World Cups but yet to win a silverware for his country.
Speaking on Kessben FM on Tuesday morning, Asamoah Gyan also affirmed his readiness for the mundial and also hope to leave a good legacy in what is likely to be his last AFCON.
“Not winning the AFCON is a major worry for us the players. We the players talk about this AFCON a lot in our private conversation.
“I have tried a lot for my country but the biggest legacy I want to leave is winning the African of Nations trophy for Ghana,” Gyan said.
The former Sunderland striker also declared his readiness for next month’s showdown.
“I’m ready for the AFCON. By the grace of God I’m fit. Yesterday I came in the game in the 80th minute and that is good for me.
Asamoah Gyan is currently Ghana’s all time goal scorer after usurping Abedi Pele last year.
