Hamburg SV defender Gideon Jung is glad to be getting back to his best.
The versatile defender had a serious cartillage injury last season but he is back this campaign and has played eleven games already since January.
Jung, who is of Ghanaian parentage was made the skipper of Hamburg in midweek as they lost 3-1 to Leipzig in the League Cup and he says it was his best game so far this season as he seeks to discover his old form.
“It was better than the past games, I talked to some people, is not easy after such an injury.” Jung told mopo.de
“I have to take the pressure on my self and be a little clearer in my mind. I hope to get my old form back.”
“Against Leipzig we showed that we can play very well. We have to prove that in the league also. We have to go all out against Union Berlin on Sunday and show we are the best.”
Jung, 24 can play at anywhere in defence and also as a midfield anchor. He has already been capped by Germany at Under 21 level but still eligible to play for Ghana.
