Steadfast head coach, Abdul Mumin insists his side “completely deserved” to secure the 4-0 thumping over city rivals Tamale City on Thursday, helping the Blue Blacks secure their first win in the ongoing Normalisation Committee Special Competition.
Alhassan Hamza opened the scoring at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in the 3rd minute.
But it was Asolo Seidu Marwan who stole the show, with a brace making him the first Steadfast player to score three goals in the competition so far before Mohammed Sadat increased the tally to 4-0 for the home.
Speaking to FootballMadeInGhana.com after the game, head coach of Steadfast FC, Abdul Mumin was full of praises for his boys.
“I think we turned in a top performance today, a great performance from my boys against a tough opponent,” Abdul Mumin said.
“The first half, in particular, was sensationally good in every respect.
“The way we played was very impressive.
I’m glad, and I’d like to congratulate my team on it. The margin of victory was completely deserved.
“It shows their response to this week training after a very poor start to the competition,” he added.
As well as leading his side to demolish the Citizens, Steadfast also became the first team to score two goals against Tamale City in the first half of any competition since the take over by former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr Nasiru last year.
It was also the heaviest defeat Tamale City has suffered since the take over.
