Premier League club Wa All Stars and Division One club New Edubiase will not take part in the Normalization Committee Special Competition according to the President of the Normalization Committee Dr. Kofi Amoah.
According to him, out of the 64 Premier and Division One League clubs invited to take part in the competition, only Wa All Stars and New Edubiase didn’t confirm their participations as of the time of the launching of the competition.
Dr. Kofi Amoah was speaking at the launch of the competition at the forecourt of the Ghana Football Association on Monday evening.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I have been informed by the Ghana FA Secretariat that out of the 64 clubs, only two have not confirmed their participation in the competition,” he said.
“Wa All Stars and New Edubiase United did not confirm their participation in the competition as of the time of this launch,” he added.
New Edubiase have already vowed not taking part in the competition, describing it as illegal and insisting the truncated league should have continued.
The Ghana FA has written to Wa All Stars to clarify their status of ownership and to confirm their participation.
An official response is expected to be presented on Tuesday.
