Ghana deputy coach Ibarhim Tanko led a team of Muslims in the Black Stars to worship on Friday to seek for Allah’s blessings ahead of the 2019 AFCON Qualifier with Kenya.
The team of six offered their Friday Jum’a congregational prayer at the Alhaji Asuma Banda Mosque inside the Airport Residential Area between 1:00pm and 1:30 pm.
The players, led by Ghana deputy skipper Andre Ayew included Lumor Abgeyenu, Kassim Nuhu, Mubarak and Alhassan Wakaso as well as Jordan Ayew.
The players offered gifts to the poor and fraternized with the people there in a very modest manner.
The practice, which has been a routine for the players anytime they come on national assignment was given a colourful look on Friday as their fellow Muslim brothers wished them luck in the game on Saturday.
Ghana will take on Kenya in the final group F clash of the 2019 AFCON qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium in a game which will not affect the chances of both countries from qualifying to the tournament.
Both countries have already secure their tickets to the tournament following the withdrawal of Sierra Leone from the qualifiers.
