Goztepe SK have joined the race to sign Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan from Chinese outfit Shanghai SIPG in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old spent last season on loan at UAE side Al Ahli Dubai but is bent on moving permanently from the the Chinese club with his contract set to end on June, 30, 2017.
Bursaspor were the first Turkish club this summer who showed interest in the former Sunderland striker by making a 30,000 Euros a week bid for him a week ago but according to Turkish Sports Portal Sporx, Goztepe are also keen on Gyan and will be making an official offer in the coming days.
Gyan netted eight goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for Al Ahli last season and will be hoping to get back if he moves back to Europe.
The 31-year-old had successful stints with Udinese, Stade Rennes and then EPL side Sunderland.
