Italy’s national under 21 head coach Gigi Di Biagio has called up Sassuolo defender Claud Adjapong to his squad for the matches against Austria and Croatia later this month.

The 20-year-old Adjapong has been a revelation at Sassuolo since breaking into the first team two seasons ago.

Adjapong has previously featured for the Azzuri’s Under 19 team and his exploits this season has caught the eyes of Di Biagio for an Under 21 invitation.

Born to Ghanaian players in Italy, Adjapong is one of the young players being monitored by Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah.
