Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has added Azerbaijan to the list of countries in his football career after agreeing a deal with Sabail FC.
The former AC Milan and Ghana midfielder completed his switch to Sabail FC in Azerbaijan after a fruitful negotiations on Friday.
The 36-year-old is believed to have a year deal with the Bayil Arena outfit after passing a mandatory medical test on Friday afternoon.
He was without a club after parting ways with Malaysian side Persip Bundung in 2018.
The Bison has had stints with top European sides including Chelsea, Lyon, AC Milan and Real Madrid.
