Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach, CK Akonnor is very optimistic that his charges can defeat Zesco United in Ndola on Sunday to book their place in the CAF Confederations Cup quarter finals.
Kotoko could have reached the last eight of the competition last week with a victory but laboured to draw 1-1 with Al Hilal in Kumasi.
Now, the Porcupine Warriors need a win against a struggling Zesco United side to sail through and their coach is confident they can achieve that.
“We should have killed the game in Kumasi last week and secured qualification but it did not happen. Some times such things happen for the end to be bitter sweet.” Akonnor told footballmadeinghana.com
“I am very hopeful we can win in Zesco once we are determined, dedicated and what ever we have to do we have to go and do it well.”
” I am having the feeling we can go and beat Zesco in Zambia and I hope my players have that also.”
Kotoko will make it to the quarter finals of the competition with a win in Ndola regardless of what happens in Omdurman where Al Hilal host Nkana
