Ghanaian winger Zakaria Mumuni has starred controversy by claiming that the Ghana Premier League is tougher than the DR Congo Super Ligue.
Despite the wonderful DR Congo clubs on the continental level, Zakaria believes the Ghana Premier League can boast of several top clubs unlike in DR Congo where a few clubs dominate.
The AS Vita Club player has only featured twice for his new side in the Congolese league, but has rated the Ghana Premier League ahead of the DR Congo league.
According to him, it’s very difficult to win games away from home in Ghana compared to the Congolese league which offers an easy reverse.
“Comparing the Congolese league to the Ghana League, I will say the Ghana League is very tough.
“It is difficult for a team to go away and win in Ghana. But here (DR Congo) a club can win three consecutive away games,” he told FootballMadeInGhana.com
The comment of the intelligent winger will be seen as overly controversial as many believe the DR Congo league is impregnated with a lot of quality.
The recent ranking of leagues in Africa revealed the Ghana Premier League is 16 places behind the DR Congo league but Zakaria thinks otherwise.
He, however, believes that the DRCongonleague is better in terms of organization.
“I maintain the Ghana league is tough, but in terms of organization I think is the DR Congo league is far better. Everything is fine. You could see all the teams well prepared and organized,” he noted.
