Ghana and Newcastle United star Christian Atsu has revealed building a school in his native country Ghana as he continues to give back to society.
The school will cater for about 300 children whose educational opportunities have been curtailed due to poverty.
Atsu, 27, is a former player of Fayenoord Academy before joining Cheetah FC where his rise to fame swiftly started.
Following his swift rise in football and playing for some of the top clubs in the world including Chelsea and FC Porto, the Ghanaian international has set up a charity foundation to support the poor.
And some deprived children in his community will soon be handed the biggest life opportunity of being educated from the Newcastle star’ benevolence.
“At the moment we’re building a school in Ghana. About 300 children will attend, I want everyone to have the chance of education.” he told the Guardian.
Atsu’s education equipped him for Europe after joining FC Porto as a teenager in 2009 before signing a four-year deal with Chelsea in 2013.
