Despite grabbing a slim win over ZESCO United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday, Asante Kotoko trainer CK Akonnor insists the Zambian giants are the best side in the group.
The Porcupine Warriors were pipped by Al Hilal in their first group game in Sudan and managed a 2-1 win over ZESCO in their first home game of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kotoko took a two-goal lead before ZESCO pulled one back and subjected Kotoko to incessant pressure before the game ended and Akonnor believes ZESCO are the best side in the group.
“I may be wrong but let’s be honest, ZESCO are the best side in the group. They play very good football and show a lot of maturity.
“Their play show a lot of team cohesion and chemistry so we ought to be happy for this victory,” Akonnor told FootballMadeInGhana.com
Asante Kotoko will travel to Zambia to play Nkana in their third group game and hope to win to top the group.
