David Duncan has back Kumasi Asante Kotoko to play in next season’s CAF Confederations Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors decision to participate in the Africa global soccer fiesta has been the subject of scrutiny by the public since the normalization committee granted them the permission.
A lot of issues have been raised about the club’s preparation and their financial capabilities to participate in the competition but their former tactical brain David Duncan has backed the Reds to represent the country in tournament.
“Why are we making things difficult for them. They don’t have issues with money. They didn’t ask anyone for help. They think they have quality players to compete. Why are we still forcing to find a way to stop them from playing.” He told Zuria FM Sports.
“They have some wonderful guys in the management. I know they have put everything into consideration before coming up with decision to go to Africa.”
“If you don’t compete how would you know if you can win. I think they are in better place to go. Even if they can’t win, they will learn a lot from it. For me we should encourage them to go” He added.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko has little less than four weeks to prepare for the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
