The former Dortmund player has advised Kwesi Appiah to show some consistency with his national team call ups.
Appiah has been criticized by many for constantly inviting new players in a bid to rebuild the Black Stars but Mallam Yahaya however believes consistency should still not be sacrificed.
“Kwesi Appiah should be consistent. He should know the core of his team by now. It’s is better to get to know the core of your team as early as possible” He told Zuria FM sports.
The former Ghana defender also disagrees that players like Asamoah Gyan that are lacking amole playing time at their clubs should not be invited to the national team.
“Playing in Europe is different from playing in Africa, some players do well in Europe and also flop in Africa, their contribution is minimal when they come to Ghana. You will be mistaken if you keep calling those playing regularly in the league” He stressed.
“I was with Ibrahim Tanko at Dortmund , he used to play regularly more than me, and Osei Kuffuor was playing at Bayern Munich, but whenever we came back to the National team I was the one who had the most playing time because of my performance.”
“Both of them weren’t playing like I was playing at the national team, but at the club level it was different story” he added.
