The Sierra Leone government have agreed to reinstate the country’s football federation led by Isha Johansen in a bid to reverse a FIFA ban.
FIFA had suspended the Sierra Leone over what it considers as government interference in the administration of football.
The suspension threatened Sierra Leone’s 2019 AFCON qualifier against Ghana on Thursday.
But following a crunch meeting on Monday, the government seems to have agreed to reinstate the federation led by Isha Johansen which was a condition by FIFA if they were to lift the suspension.
FIFA will officially lift the suspension on once it receives word from Johansen and SLFA General Secretary Chris Kamara over their reinstatement.
Both Johansen and Kamara have been facing an anti-corruption probe.
