The GHALCA StarTimes gala competition was expected to be the biggest competition to be contested by Ghanaian clubs following the suspension of the competitive 2018 football season due to the Tiger Eye PI investigative video but the original competition has been canceled.
The FIFA normalisation committee for the GFA met with GHALCA leadership on Wednesday to discuss the way forward for the country’s football and both parties have agreed to create a new competition to replace the StartTimes $100 000 gala.
GHALCA boss Kudjoe Fianoo spoke to Top FM and confirmed the latest decision.
“The StarTimes gala won’t be played now. It will take a different format as we have agreed with Normalisation committee,” Fianoo revealed.
“They (normalisation committee) just started work a week ago and they don’t want to always be in the news. They say they want to get things done as quick as possible but they think the competition should take a different format.”
“This means the StartTimes gala won’t take place for now” he added.
