General secretary of the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG) Mr. Ayita Mensah has revealed referees are owned more than GHC 2 million in payment by the Ghana Football Association.
Mr. Ayita Mensah was speaking on Nhyira FM on Monday and made the the dreadful revelation.
“As it stands now our referees in Ghana are owned more than Two million Ghana cedis arrears as officiating fees.” Ayita Mensah disclosed.
“This is the sum of officiating fees unpaid to the referees in the last two seasons for both men and women officiating officials” he explained.
“Moving forward we will plead with authorities to settle referees allowances on time to avoid the dilemma we went through in the past” Ayita Mensah pleaded.
Meanwhile RAG – on Monday – announced 10-year bans against 53 referees implicated in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas, slapped 8 more others with life-time bans whilst exonerating 14 officials.
