Ghana’s U17 team progressed to the semi finals of the WAFU Zone B Africa Cup qualifying tournament with a 2-1 win over Togo on Saturday.
Goals from Simon Appiah and Christian Agyenim Boateng proved enough to seal a place in the last four for the Black Starlets.
Coach Karim Zito side was however made to work extremely hard for the win as the Togolese mounted a spirited challenge.
Ghana had endured a disappointing 0-0 stalemate with host nation Niger in its first group match.
The win this sees the Black Stars progress as leaders of Group A with four points.
Niger picks up the second qualification slot with two points while Togo are eliminated from the competition.
Only the winner of the tournament shall qualify for the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup tournament in Tanzania.
