FootballmadeinGhana.com can confirm the Inter Milan midfielder limped out of training on Wednesday morning at the Ethiopian Youth Sports Academy ground in Addis Ababa where the Black Stars are based.
Black Stars gaffer Kwesi Appiah however downplayed the seriousness of the injury of Kwadwo Asamoah but says it would require treatment as he expects the former Juventus player to shrug off the injury and rejoin his teammates in training ahead of Saturday’s crunch encounter against the Harambee Stars of Kenya.
“He had a small injury. Just that I don’t want to put a problem for him to make it worse. It is important we treat it and then he trains slowly.” Kwesi Appiah told freelance Ethiopian journalist Omna Taddele Gebru as reported by FootballmadeinGhana.com in an exclusive interview.
Asamoah is returning to the Black Stars after almost four years of absence due to niggling injuries that forced him to take the international break.
The versatile player has started the Serie A season strongly starting all of Inter Milan’s three league games but this represents the latest reverse against the player’s return to selection and is expected to be fit for the Kenya game.
