The Media Officer for the Black Stars “B” Dickson Kwabena Kyere has spoken against government’s decision to dissolve the Ghana Football Association following the Anas football corruption video.
A court petition to officially wind up the Ghana FA is pending for which FIFA has threatened to suspend the GFA by 27 August if the petition is not withdrawn.
Kwabena Kyere – a former CEO of BA United and current owner of Eagles soccer academy – welcomes steps to reform the country’s football association but does not believe winding up the body is the proper way to go.
“I have never been in favor of the attempt to dissolve the Ghana FA. Its not possible to call for total clean football. We should rather be dealing with people found culpable but not to dissolve the whole association.” Kwabena Kyere told FootballMadeinGhana.com in an exclusive interview.
“If you are not into football you cannot run football. Its so simple.”
“Are we saying if a politician commits a crime it means we should dissolve the whole governance structure. I men I don’t understand what’s going on and I never support the dissolution. ” he quizzes.
“If I were part of the GFA Executive committee member I would have gone to court by now. It is true that no person is entirely clean but there are people that can run the game. Lets get someone to act as the president of the GFA and get a road map to organize an elections ” he added.
