Official: James Kwesi Appiah signs 3-year deal with Sudan

Former Ghana Black Stars head coach, James Kwesi Appiah has finally put pen to a 3-year contract with the Sudanese FA as the head coach of the Sudanese national team.
This event took place on Friday at Mövenpick Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With him were his two Ghanaian counterparts, Ignatius Osei-Fosu and Fatau Dauda, who will both serve in his technical team as Assistant coach and goalkeepers coach respectively.
Kwesi Appiah, 63, who doubles as Asante Kotoko’s technical director, is not new to the Sudanese football, having managed Al Khartoum Al Watani also in Sudan from December 2014 to April 2017.
With no AFCON 2023 for Sudan, the gaffer, who has already grinded two impressive score lines, 1-1 draw against Tanzania and a 1-0 victory over Chad, is expected to build a formidable side with the aim of qualifying Sudan to the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the subsequent AFCON.
