AFCON 2023 : Black Stars drawn in group B alongside Egypt and two others

The draw for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) took place in Abidjan on Thursday night.
Ghana have been drawn in Group B alongside African giants Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
The Black Stars will be based in Abidjan and play most of their games at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.
The top two countries will automatically advance to the Round of 16 stage with the best third placed team advancing to the knockout stage based on ranking.
Ghana’s Black Stars are chasing a fifth elusive Africa Cup of Nations title after coming close three times since last winning it in 1982.
The four times champions reached the finals in 1992, 2010 and 2015, losing twice on penalties to Ivory Coast and then once to Egypt.
The 34th edition of the African showpiece is scheduled to take place in Cote d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
