A dedicated West Ham United fan who made a historic trip from London to Kumasi to cheer Ghana star Mohammed Kudus during Ghana’s AFCON 2023 qualifier with the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi has been rewarded with a signed Ghana shirt of the new West Ham star.
The action of the fan was a surprise to many but for the religious West Ham United supporter it’s nothing but love for his club and the Ghanaian star.
The fans met Kudus at the team’s hotel in Accra after the game and was given the a signed Ghana shirt of the player.
Kudus was coveted by a number of European clubs due to his impressive achievements in the 2022 World Cup and for Ajax Amsterdam.
A few weeks ago, West Ham emerged victorious in the battle for his signature.
Just before the international break, the player made his debut for the Hammers last Friday in injury time as they defeated Luton Town 2-1.
Despite this, the player already had a cult following in London, as evidenced by the fact that a supporter was caught on camera citing Mohammed Kudus as the reason he travelled to Ghana from the UK.
Kudus’ brilliant free kick laid the stage for the Black Stars’ thrilling comeback victory, thus the fan’s efforts to watch his beloved player paid off.
Ghana won the match 2-1 to secure a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ivory Coast the following year.
As evidence already suggests, Kudus will get a raucous welcome upon his return to West Ham the following week.
When the Premier League starts, he is anticipated to play in another exciting match against Manchester City at the London Stadium.
