Asante Kotoko announce eleventh signing of the transfer window

Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of defensive midfielder Micheal Dwamena Kyei in the ongoing transfer window.

The 23-year old has penned a three-year deal after completing his mandatory medical examination on Saturday.

He joins the Porcupines from West African Football Academy.

Asante Kotoko in a statement confirmed the arrival of the former WAFA captain.

“The 23-year-old, who has earned the reputation as one of the best in his position in the domestic league, penned a three-year deal and followed Andrews Ntim as the two central midfield signing of the current transfer window.

The former WAFA skipper journey started from WA Suntaa, before spending three seasons at the Sogakope Arena, making 26 appearances for the division one side as well as recording his name on the assists chart, four times during last season.

Dwamena is noted for combing an excellent reading of the game, breaking up opponents’ attacks, and also an impressive distribution of passes.

He tells Asante Kotoko media;

“Playing for Asante Kotoko has always been part of my dream growing up

“Moreover, the coach [Prosper Narteh Ogum] is someone I have worked with before, and his understanding of the game excites me a lot, and I am confident that together, we can achieve something great here.”

Micheal Dwamena becomes the eleventh signing of the club in this transfer window.
