Asante Kotoko confirm the signing of former King Faisal winger Baba Yahaya

Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of the highly rated attacking midfielder, Baba Yahaya.

The 21-year-old has penned a three-year deal with the club following a protracted negotiations.

He joins them on free transfer after leaving King Faisal at the end of the 2022/23 season.

“Comfortable on playing from either of the flanks as well as operating as a number 10, he scored five goals, making five assists and won the man of the match awards on five occasions during last season’s campaign with city rivals, King Faisal FC.” A statement on the club’s website

The midfielder, who is no stranger to the Baba Yara Stadium, said during his unveiling that he is excited to finally make this move.

“I feel honoured to finally be here. I have been dreaming of this day.

“I believe that sometimes, in life, the voice of the people is the voice of God. I thank whoever was involved in making this happen.

“I am more than ready to put on the shirt and get started.

“I understand the responsibilities that come with this, and I am ready to face it with hard work.”

Baba Yahaya has already joined his teammates at Beposo preparing for the start of the Ghana Premier League.
