Moshie defy odds to win second edition of Inter Tribal Football Gala

Moshie defied all odds to win the second edition of the Inter Tribal Football Gala on Saturday in a nerve shredding final.
The Moshies’ defeated the overwhelming favourite Songhai 2-1 in a thrilling final at the Aboabo Middle Park.
As expected, Songhai started the game very well dominating play and taking the game to the Moshie.
Wadudu Yakubu had the first chance of the game for Songhai but his shot was saved by Mantey.
Despite the dominance from Songhai, it was Moshie who jumped into the lead on the half hour mark.

Former Heart of Lions midfielder Mutalibi’s cross was headed nicely by Fatayi to send the Moshie fans into a frenzy.
Songhai reacted very well after going down but failed to get pass the impressive Moshie defense.
Moshie held on to their 1-0 led untill the blast of the first half whistle.

The second half was the same story, Songhai having more of the ball but ineffective at the final third.
Songhai despite pushing for the equalizer found themselves behind for the second time in the 64th minutes.
Rabiu Mallam connected a corner from Mansur Robinho to double Moshies’ lead.
The second goal came as a morale booster for Moshie who looked more settled in the game.
Songhai were given a lifeline on the 75th minute following a foul in the Moshi penalty box.
Babamu on a second attempt reduced the deficit to set up nervous ending to the game.
Mantey twice denied Babamu before Abdul Malik produce a wonderful defending to block Wadudu’s goal bound effort.
Moshie defended gallantly to keep their one goal lead until the blast of the final whistle.
Omar Farouk of Moshie won the most valuable player of the tournament.
Sule of Songhai also took home the goalkeeper of the tournament award.
