It’s time for the big finale! The second edition of the Inter Tribal Football Gala is coming to an end and we’re expecting fireworks as Moshie come up face to face against Songhai at the Aboabo Middle B Park.
Following a shootout win against Wangara in the semi-finals, Songhai will be looking to make history by lifting the ultimate on Saturday.
They’ll be locking horns with Moshie, who will be looking to defy all odds and lift the trophy.
Throughout the tournament, we’ve seen the Songhai engage is an amazing display of football, dominating their group stage and knockout round, blazing all the way to the final. They’re currently in top form and boast an outstanding defence.
Moshie on the other despite their slow start will be looking to live up to expectations and will need immense teamwork to defeat a tough opponent in Shanghai.
Route to the final
Songhai haven’t really needed to move into top gear in their progression to the final. They picked up nine points from their three group games, they earned comfortable victory over Gurunshi/Sissala and Banda, before beating Wangara via shootouts to book their spot in the final.
Moshie recovered well after drawing their first two games defeated Dagomba to qualify from their group.
Their route to Saturday’s game has been a tad more difficult than Songhai.
They defeated Gurma and Dagomba in the round 16 and quaters, before getting passed Yadigawa in the semis.
Players to watch
Songhai wil be relying on the brilliance of their top scorer Babamu who has netted five goals so far in the competition.
The likes of Wadudu Yakubu, Toffic Omar cannot be overlook in the Songhoi set up.
While Moshie, will be hoping Toffic Adiyiah, Fatayi and illegal will step up for them on the day.
