John Antwi double steers Dreams FC to big win over Heart of Lions in friendly

The experienced striker registered a brace for the Green and White side as they bullied the newly promoted Premier League side at the Accra Sports Stadium

Former Al Ahly striker John Antwi was at his scoring best for Dreams FC on Tuesday afternoon as he steered the Still Believe lads to a 3-0 win over Heart of Lions in a friendly.

The experienced striker registered a brace for the Green and White side as they bullied the newly promoted Premier League side at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Antwi, 31, broke the virginity of the game before the break for his side with a swift slap of the ball as winger Dede flew in a beautiful cross from the left.

Gael Aholou opened the scoring for the Dawu lads shortly after the commencement of the second half, swiftly followed by another goal from John Antwi, who secured his second of the match and the team’s third overall.

This friendly match served as a chance for Dreams FC and Heart of Lions to polish off their strategies for upcoming games.

The Division One League Super Cup, which will be held at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex from Friday, August 18, to Friday, September 1, 2023, is being prepared for by Heart of Lions.

Dreams FC is preparing for its next match against Milo FC De Kankan of Guinea in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.

The MTN FA Cup champions will travel to Conakry for the first leg of their two-game match on Saturday, August 19.

Then, on Sunday, August 27, they will go back to the Accra Sports Stadium to host their rivals for the return leg.
