Chief Executive Officer of Berry Ladies, Mrs. Gifty Afia Oware-Mensah, will serve on the Executive Council of the next Ghana Football Association administration after going unopposed.
Gifty Oware-Mensah has filed nominations to contest for the GFA’s Women’s Executive Council Representative and submitted her forms at the GFA Secretariat last Friday.
However, even before the elections take place she has become the first person to know her stand after no one filed to challenge her for the position.
Oware-Mensah was expected to face stuff competition from Naomi Abdulai (Prison Ladies) and Evelyn Nsiah Asare (Hasaacas Ladies) but both decided against contesting at the eleventh hour.
It is believed that her involvement and massive contribution to the women’s game has not gone unnoticed hence the decision to reward her accordingly.
She will however need to pass the vetting process before her confirmation on the Ex-Co during the GFA Elective Congress on September 27 in Tamale.
Gifty Oware-Mensah is currently the owner and financier of Berry Ladies FC, a Women’s Premier League outfit and also runs the fast growing Kumasi Sports Academy.
Her benevolence has seen her donate to various national and club teams during preparations for assignments.
