Otumfour endorses Akwasi Appiah for GFA Ex-Co role

Reports reaching FMiG indicate that the overlord of the Asante Kingdom and Owner of Asante Kotoko FC, Otumfour Osei Tutu II has endorsed club legend James Akwasi Appiah to go for a slot on the Ghana Football Association executive council.

The report emanates from Kumasi-based Opemsuo radio, a mouth of the Manhyia Palace.

The nomination process for the upcoming GFA elections has been opened with candidates already picking up their forms.

James Akwasi Appiah is currently serving on Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee and has vast of experience in Ghana Football.

He had an illustrious playing career serving the Porcupine Warriors and also captaining Ghana’s Black Stars.

He also served as Ghana Coach in two spells and notably qualified the team to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

James Akwasi Appiah has a deadline to beat though as he’s supposed to pick his forms and submit by 5pm GMT on Friday August 11th.

The GFA Elective Congress will be held on September 27 at the Redaach Hotel Conference Hall, Tamale.
