General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo has defended the essence of national team management committees.
National Management Committee has come under a lot of scrutiny following a string of unimpressive spells by various national teams.
Following these underwhelming outings, a lot of the public have criticized the role of the management committee members believing the teams would be better off without them.
However, Prosper Harrison Addo has leapt to the defense of the NMC insisting that their respective roles remain crucial to the success of each national side they represent.
“It’s relevant. There are various roles in a football team. You have the playing body, the technical side and then the management side of things. I’ve heard people say we don’t need managers or management”, he told Asaase Radio in an exclusive interview.
“All the management members have their assigned area. Somebody (deals with) player welfare, somebody (deals with) logistics, somebody (deals with) hotel security…so all these things somebody must be in charge of so that the technical team and the playing body will get their best at the playing side,” he added.
