AFCON U23: Barnieh, Essiam to return as Tanko makes changes for Guinea decider

Head Coach of Ghana’s U-23 side, Ibrahim Tanko is set to make changes to his starting lineup for today’s crucial Group A clash versus Guinea.

The Black Meteors face tonight’s opponents in a win or bust encounter and reports FMIG is picking signals alterations will be made to the starting eleven.

Key Midfielder Emmanuel Essiam who was surprisingly benched for the humiliating loss to Morocco in Game 2 will return to the lineup, from our source, with Salim Adams returning to the bench.

Again, our source who we cannot name to protect relationships mentioned that team captain Afriyie Barnieh will also be re-instated to the starting lineup.

Ghana lies 3rd on the group standings on 3 points and need nothing but a win to topple Guinea to the second position and qualification to the next stage of the competition.

Coach Tanko’s line-up will likely see not less than 3 changes as FMIG continues to probe to get the final list out ahead of the game’s kickoff at 8pm GMT.

More soon…
