Head Coach of Ghana’s Black Meteors Ibrahim Tanko is confident of securing victory in their last group game tonight.
Ghana’s U-23 side face their Guinean counterparts in a win or bust last group game at the ongoing CAF U-23 Championship. The team won their first game against Congo but suffered a morale-denting 1-5 defeat to Morocco in their next game.
Ghana’s qualification hinges on the upcoming match with both teams locked on three points behind Morocco who are on six points and have already qualified. The Black Meteors need a win to ensure qualification as a draw will help Guinea’s chances.
During the team’s pre match press conference, Tanko optimistically assessed his side’s chances
“We have watched the last game again and have worked on correcting what went wrong.
“We have to put it behind us and I think the team is ready for the game tomorrow. The opponent needs only a draw but we know we have to win the game to go to the next stage”.
“We are well psyched mentally and physically to win the game. We had a good training session yesterday and the boys showed me in training that they are ready for a win”.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 8pm GMT at the Grand Stade Tanger.
