Ewan completed a 3-year permanent move to Dunfirmline from Celtic after an initial loan period with the Pars.
The Ghanaian defender impressed Dunfirmline manager during his loan spell, necessitating a permanent move to the championship side.
Ewan helped the side to gain promotion from the League One to the Championship with his great outing for the side, featuring in all 11 games game after joining.
Speaking about Ewan after completing his move to Dunfermline, James McPake disclosed how he has closely followed the Ghanaian for about 6 years in his playing career.
James McPake expressed his excitement at having Ewan back at the KDM Group East End Park and mentioned that he has been following the player’s development ever since he was fourteen or fifteen and playing for Celtic. Ewan had already been chosen to bolster the team when Dundee recalled Sam Fisher.
“When Rhys Breen got injured, we got a real performance from Ewan. He would have come in and had an impact anyway but we saw in the later stages of the season just how good he could be,” he told the club.
“Similar to Kane Ritchie-Hosler, he just had to bide his time and what I liked about that was he never spat the dummy out, he worked really hard.
“He came from a big club in the last year of his contract but obviously maybe with options of the next year but he just wanted to work hard every day and wait for his turn to get in the team,” he added.
Ewan, who is just 20, is eligible to play for Ghana despite representing Scotland at several youth levels.
