Following the official announcement of his illustrious football career for both club and country, the debate as to the best goal he ever scored for Ghana pops up.

Gyan has scored some incredible goals for Ghana including his first goal at the 2006 World Cup under 1 minute 8 seconds, as well as scoring against USA at the 2010 World cup and in a friendly in 2017.

But Gyan’s strike against Algeria at the group stage of the 2015 AFCON which eventually catapulted Ghana to the finals of the tournament look the best to many.

With his retirement, Gyan’s extraordinary career comes to an end.

In 109 games for the national team, he scored an impressive 51 goals, making him Ghana’s all-time leading scorer.

He competed for Ghana in three FIFA World Cup competitions and was essential to their historic journey to the quarterfinals of the South Africa 2010 World Cup.
